Being a health food fanatic that I am, I was delighted to have been chosen to test and review the Lightlife Smart Dogs Veggie hot dogs by Social Nature. Social Nature is a website where you receive free products for reviewing them. I have always have enjoyed hot dogs, but prefer to eat the meatless hot dogs. Usually, meatless hot dogs are made with soy, which these cute and delicious Lightlife Smart Dogs are made.

I was searching for the Lightlife Smart Dogs, veggie hot dogs brand at Target at first. I had heard at first that it is located there, but when I had gone to two Target stores around where I live, they did not have them in stock, and one of the ladies working there told me that they have discontinued them. Social Nature had sent me locations to where they would be located.
Many times they are correct, but this time they said that I would find them at specific CVS pharmacy stores, and I had gone there, and it was not in stock in any of the CVS pharmacy store addresses provided to me. This was recent news given to me June 18 of 2017. I had then gone to the Lightlife Smart Dogs website for a store locator, and long and behold, I had found that these yummy Lightlife Smart Dogs are located at my local Jewel-Osco supermarket. I was overjoyed to have finally found them.
I have taken a picture below to give my readers the giveaway news by Social Nature. They are giving away 10 free vouchers for the whole summer to 3 lucky winners. You must share a picture of you using LightLife Smart Dogs on Twitter or Instagram. You must tag #meatfromplants and #contest, and then you must tag @lightlife @socialnature in order to win. Contest ends July 31, 2017, and contest is only for United States residents.
I had gone to the Jewel-Osco store, and I was directed by an employee there that these veggie hot dogs by LightLife brand were located in the vegan and meatless aisle, which is just above other vegetables. The first thing I did notice was that these I was given a free voucher to receive and try one full-pack of these Lightlife Smart Dogs for the price of $5.99. I did pay$3.99 plus tax. You can also find the Lightlife Smart Meatless Dogs
Checking through the Lightlife Smart Dogs package, and I did notice that it brings 8 regular sized veggie hot dogs. Usually, some hot dog packages would bring 10 hot dogs, but this one was a special non-GMO Lightlife Smart Dog. The price was not that bad either, at $3.99, it is still an average price.
The picture I have taken below is of the ingredients I have added to to the omelet.
- Preheat your skillet or pan for 2 minutes before using it.
- Set your heat at medium
- I have added half the red pepper you see there.
- I then added 1/4 cup of almond milk ( You can use regular milk if you like).
- Whisk your two eggs with the 1/4 cup of almond milk in a bowl.
- I have added a dash of seasonings, and the one that I used was the salt-free seasoning of Mrs. Dash.
- I also added and sprinkled some nutritional yeast to substitute cheese.
- I then added a 1/4 Tsp of Himalayan salt.
- 1 bunch or a handful of spinach
- It will cook for 6 to 8 minutes.
- Make sure your omelet does not burn.
- I had cut up two Lightlife Smart Dogs for this omelet which serves 4 people.
When I got home, I thought of many ways of using my meatless Lightlife Smart Dogs. I thought of putting them on the grill, on the skillet, and even, of course, microwave them. I prefer to be creative and use it in an omelet dish that I usually make for example.
That is exactly what I had done the next morning. I could have traditionally gone with the grilling route and put my hot dog on a bun, but I decided to be a little creative. It came out as a superb and delicious combination.
Below, I have a picture of my omelet creation with my Lightlife Meatless Smart Dogs. I used a pizza cutter to cut my omelet into a pizza shape.
When I had first opened the package, these delightful Lightlife Smart Dogs did not only appear like regular hot dogs but also smelled like regular hot dogs. I do really enjoy more vegan foods than food with meat, but I do occasionally enjoy some eggs, fish, chicken, and turkey. I do respect other people’s choices in just sticking with the vegan and meatless variety of foods.
These are an excellent substitute if you are transitioning from a meat lifestyle to a more vegan and meatless lifestyle. I am not quite doing that right now, but if you are, these meatless hot dogs from Lightlife Smart Dogs are perfect to start your transition.

They are also a brand that cares about their society and environment. They have done a contribution of 5 percent to support healthy and resourceful earth, which is of course recycling.
Lightlife Smart Dogs Scent: The smell or scent of these vegetarian or meatless hot dogs are very similar to regular hot dogs.
